THE WEXFORD Under-15 soccer team was away to Kilkenny on Sunday last and enjoyed a fantastic 3-1 win. Kilkenny took the lead after ten minutes and at that stage were well on top as Wexford were very slow to start. It could have been worse only for Wexford goalkeeper James Flood who brought off two very good saves.

Then the game turned around completely with a long clearance from Stephen Kehoe down the left wing where Timmy Dwyer turned and headed for goal, beating the 'keeper with a great shot.

Wexford piled on the pressure and ten minutes later took the lead with a cross from Dale Galway which the Kilkenny 'keeper let bounce behind him, and the alert Timmy Dwyer came in at back post to tap in.

At this stage it was all Wexford, and ten minutes before half-time a shot from Alan Rhodes from 18 yards out went all the way to the net.

The second-half was scoreless, with 'keeper Flood making some very good saves. The only low part of the day was the injury to our brilliant centre-back, Ciarán Walsh, who sustained a broken wrist and will be out for about six weeks.
