Ross Celtic see off Ferns

Tuesday September 07 2010

CHAMPIONS NEW Ross Celtic continued their winning ways with a 3-1 triumph over Ferns United.

Paul Phelan netted a double for the winners while Michael Grangel added their other goal. Ferns pulled a goal back late on but Celtic comfortably collected the three points.

North End United also made it two wins from two, securing a 4-2 win against Forth Celtic. Craig McGuire was in scintillating form for the Wexford town men, bagging a hat-trick to fire his side into a 3-0 lead.

However, Forth Celtic refused to give in and fought back to 3-2 with goals from Thomas Thornton and Kevin Price but Trevor Berry got on the end of a Kyle Dempsey cross to wrap up the points (see focus match).

Park Hotspur picked up the three points in Duncannon after a 4-2 win with goals from Mark Flood, Peter Marsden (2) and Jason Malone, with Tom Elmes (penalty) and Graham Rossiter replying seasiders.

Elsewhere Bunclody earned their first win of the season with 3-1 triumph in Adamstown. Liam Moore gave the hosts the lead but Bunclody fought back to take the points with goals from Severin Gadzina, Adrian Wynchyk and Barry Murphy.
