JUST TWO weeks after Clodagh Dunne and Nicholas Murphy performed so well at the Leinster Open Under-13 and Under-17 events respectively, it was the turn of the Under-11s and Under-15s to travel to Baldoyle to compete in the Leinster Open, an event that attracts the best under-age players from all over Ireland.

THE BUFFERS Alley dinner dance and medal presentation was held in Seán Ógs on Friday night last with Diarmuid Devereux (Co. Chairman), Seán and Catríona Doyle (club sponsors), Fr. S. Larkin (P.P. Kilmuckridge) and Fr. J. Doyle (C.C. Monamolin) joining the camogie and hurling fraternity in what was a very enjoyable gathering.

SOME OF Wexford's finest powerlifters will be in action this Saturday in the Naomh Eanna G.A.A. complex in Gorey. They will be competing in the I.D.F.P.A. Single Lift championships in both the equipped and unequipped sections, and it promises to be a tremendous event for fans of the sport.

ONE OF the best and most competitive inter Primary Schools team showjumping championships took place at The Ballyrafter Centre, Lismore, Co. Waterford. Five teams got the elusive zero score after the first two rounds and two were left on just four faults.

RACING RETURNED to South West Wexford on January 29 with the Wexford Foxhounds point-to-point fixture at Moorfield, Ballinaboola. This track, first used in November of last year, looks like an ideal location for the future, with a good stiff track for horse and jockey, excellent viewing for racegoers, good on track facilities, ample parking and plenty of manpower. What more could you want?

GAVIN BUGGY captured the Leinster Senior singles 40 x 20 championship last weekend in St. Joseph's as he won three tough games all in tiebreakers. The Leinster Senior championship is a separate tournament to the All-ireland singles, but still it is a great start to the season for Buggy who was struggling with his early-season form up to last weekend.
