Polocrosse action set for Coolgreany

Wicklow Bay Polocross Club members looking forward to the weekend's action in Coolgreany.
Wednesday July 28 2010
IT'S THAT time of year again when the annual Wicklow Bay polocrosse tournament is almost upon us. The event will take place this August Bank Holiday weekend at: Lookout Stud, Ballykilty Upper, Coolgreany, on Saturday, July 31, and Sunday, August 1. In conjunction with this tournament we are also delighted to be hosting an International C/D drade challenge, The Netherlands v. Ireland.
Polocrosse is the fastest-growing equestrian sport in Ireland, and it has often been described as a cross between polo and lacrosse on horseback. During this two-day event, teams from all over Ireland will travel to the village of Coolgreany to compete against one another at A, B, C and D grades.
In addition to this event we are also very excited about hosting the international challenge between Ireland and The Netherlands at C/D grade. The Irish team comprises representatives from eight different clubs throughout the country who will challenge the visiting Dutch team in friendly chukkas over the two days. This promises to be another great family day out with something of interest for everyone.
Wicklow Bay Polocrosse Club would like to wish all teams the very best of luck at this weekend, and we would also like to thank our many sponsors: Shires Equestrian, Gardiner Grain, Glanbia, Arklow Waste Disposal, Tri and Tiglinn Tack & Togs for their continued support. It is much appreciated.
