New Ross to face Carlow in Division 1 decider

Wednesday March 10 2010

NEW ROSS AND Carlow L.T.C. will meet in the Division 1 ladies' doubles league final.

Defending champions New Ross are almost assured of a place in the Division 2 final after an 8-3 away victory over Carlow L.T.C. in midweek. St. Martin's and the Carlow club battle it out for the second final spot.

Taghmon and St. Martin's will contest the third division final. St. Martin's are having a successful league campaign and are walking away with qualification for the Division 4 final. Shelburne currently occupy the second qualifying spot, but trail the Piercestown side by seven points, although they do have a game in hand.

Clonroche are looking like champions in Division 5, but their final opponents could be any one of four teams. Clonard and Shelburne are currently in second spot on eight points with Ballycogley a further two points adrift and St. Martin's three points off the pace, but they have a game less played.

St. Martin's sit proudly on the top of the Division 6 league, with Shelburne looking like their main threat. The New Ross District side trail the leaders by seven, but have a game in hand. Ballycogley are a further three points off the pace and seem to be the only danger to the top two.
