THE LEINSTER Juvenile indoor track and field championships were held in Nenagh over the weekend of February 27 and 28, and it turned out to be a great two days for Athletics Wexford with a host of excellent performances from the county's young athletes. The following are the gold medal-winning performances by Wexford athletes - Under-12 60m hurdles: Sam O'Neill (Menapians).

Under-12 60m: Sam O'Neill (Menapians).

Under-12 long jump: David McDonald (Menapians).

Under-13 60m hurdles: Ryan Murray (Bree).

Under-15 60m hurdles: Paddy Devereux (Bree).

Under-15 walk: Cormac Byrne (Bree). Under-16 walk: Peter Carberry (Menapians). Under-16 long jump: Colin Nolan (Enniscorthy). Under-17 60m hurdles: Tony Stafford (Bree). Under-17 60m: Conor Wilson (Menapians). Under-17 200m: Conor Wilson (Menapians). Under-17 long jump: Tony Stafford (Bree). Under-18 high jump: Simon Mernagh (St. Paul's).

Under-19 high jump: Eoghan Kavanagh (Caim).

Many thanks to all Wexford clubs for supplying ten officials on each day for these Leinster Juvenile indoors championships. Well done to all the athletes on a wonderful championships and many thanks to all our officials.

If any athlete is unable to travel to the nationals, please contact Clare Doyle before Thursday, March 11, so that your place can be offered to another athlete. The programme is now on the A.A.I. website.

Juvenile relay teams which have qualified for the indoor nationals are asked to contact Clare Doyle on jamcsdoyle@eircom.net with names, dates of birth and 2010 registration numbers as soon as possible. The closing date for entries is March 20 for relays.

All club affiliations to Leinster (¤25) should be paid to the Co. Treasurer as soon as possible if clubs have not already paid as payment from the county is due before the end of this month.

The Leinster Senior road race will be hosted by Bree A.C. and will be held in Galbally, Enniscorthy, on Sunday, March 21, at 2 p.m. Entries can be made on the day: ¤5 for individuals, ¤15 for a club team and ¤20 for a county team.
