English players to visit county
THE VISIT of the Glos + Stars badminton team from Gloucestershire to play a Wexford Badminton Association selection on March 20 and 21 is now only a little over a week away.
The opening welcoming ceremony will take place at 10.30 a.m. on the Saturday and will be performed by local T.D., Seán Connick, and County Chairman, Nicholas Murphy.
The Glos + Stars club was established in 2007 to provide English league and county players with a centre to practice and train.
The club regularly plays matches against a variety of English county squads, Universities and Badminton Associations.
The club also participates in international tournaments in France and Germany each year and will form stiff opposition for the home side.
