Hurling

SH challenge off

Wednesday March 03 2010

THE SENIOR hurling challenge game between Wexford and Kilkenny in aid of the McDonald Fire Fund will not go ahead in Oulart tonight (Wednesday) since the Cats are playing Tipperary in the Allianz League on Sunday next in Thurles.

That game had to be postponed twice owing to inclement weather and, given its importance, Kilkenny are not in a position to field a team tonight but are quite happy to fulfil the fixture at a later date.

The match will now go ahead on Easter Monday, April 5, at 5 p.m. in Wexford Park.

Tickets (¤10) are available from all G.A.A. clubs in Wexford, or the County Board office in Wexford Park, and Under-16s are free. The proceedings will also include an Under-10 exhibition game at half-time.

All tickets and money must be returned to the following:

Wexford District, Garry Laffan, Slaney Bookmakers, Clonard Road, Wexford; Enniscorthy District, Eamonn Mernagh, Mernagh's Pub, Oylegate; Gorey District, Larry Kehoe, Kehoe Brothers Machinery, Camolin; New Ross District, Michael Bowe, 13 Convent Hill, New Ross.

Supporters are once again urged to support this worthy cause.
