THE 'Go Games' model is likely to be adopted for all grades up to and including Under-12, delegates were informed at the Coiste na nÓg Convention last week.
Coiste Chairman, Diarmuid Devereux, informed delegates that the ultimate goal for the coming season is to run an Under12 competition as close in format and structure to 2009, but which meets the basic criteria of the new policy in terms of full player participation with a child-centered emphasis.
The Coiste Secretary, Marion Doyle, informed Convention that a letter had been received from Croke Park in relation to the decision of the Management committee to approve the proposals for the adoption of the Go Games model for all grades, up to and including twelve years of age.
This is now likely to be fully ratified by the end of the year and thus become formal G.A.A. policy.
Wexford Coiste na nÓg are seeking further clarifications from Croke Park, especially in relation to phasing, and once further information has been received, this will be communicated to clubs.
The County Chairman has appealed to clubs to discuss the G.A.A. policy document relating to Go Games, and this will be further discussed at the January County Board meeting.
