MONAGEER-BOOLAVOGUE
The Under-16s got their championship off the ground on Sunday morning last. They were well in the game until some late enforced changes let Naomh Éanna run out winners by 2-11 to 1-6.
The Under-12s had a great day out in Wexford Park on Sunday last as they got the oppurtunity to play Sarsfields in the halftime break of the Wexford v. Sligo game in football. Under-14s started training this week and most likely will have a game on Sunday morning. Watch out for a text later in the week.
While all under-age players have to wear helmets when playing hurling, the only helmets approved by the G.A.A. are Marc, Mycro and Azzurri. Please check all helmets prior to season start.
A reminder that our under-age section will be marching in the 1500 anniversary St. Patrick's Day parade, with more details of times etc. closer to the day.
Our adults got their football off to a good start with a 1-14 to 1-7 win over Volunteers in their first round league game.
Congrats also to Diarmuid Breen, James Sweeney, James Gahan and Ray O'Brien on their recent win as part of the C.B.S. school team which captured the South Leinster football final.
BUFFERS ALLEY

CASTLETOWN-L MELLOWS
Our Under-16 football team got off to a great start to the championship with an away victory to Bunclody on a scoreline of 2-8 to 3-3. Both goals were scored by Seán Roche. This is a strong squad and they enjoyed getting the year off to a good start.
The Under-12 hurling third round saw Liam Mellows securing three fine wins over all their opposition to place them top of the group.
The final group of qualifying games takes place on Friday night next when Liam Mellows will find out who their opposition will be for the 'A' semi-finals which are to take place on March 19. Undoubtedly the game of the night was between Liam Mellows and St. Pat's (Camolin). After Eoin Cullen opened the scoring with a fine goal in the first few minutes, the Pat's responded with three unanswered goals to leave the scoreline 3-0 to 1-0 ten minutes remaining.
Liam Mellows rallied to the cause and, with two great goals from Shane Halpin and one each from the Brookes brothers, Robbie and Dara, they went on to win the game by 5-0 to 4-0.
The Under-10 hurlers had a great day in the Arklow indoor competition on Saturday last, resulting in two wins and two draws. Scorers were Liam Coleman, Ciarán Power, Alex Murphy and Frank Kavanagh, with Mike Fenlon playing great in the backs.

RAPPAREES-STARLIGHTS
What a wonderful beginning to what we hope will be a good year at Bellefield, with all three Starlights teams notching up convincing victories in the first round of this season's All-County Leagues.
Our Senior footballers were the first out in Bellefield on Saturday, beating the Sarsfields by 3-14 to 0-5. Our Junior footballers had no problem following suit against the same opposition, winning their encounter by 4-11 to 1-4, and on Sunday our new-look Junior 'B' team had an overwhelming first win over Tara Rocks at Bellefield by 7-13 to 1-4.
It was lovely to see guys like Seán 'Bosco' Crotty and James 'Jamie' Doyle making a return to Gaelic football, and the father and son combination of Maurice and Graham Donohoe and the brother combination of Barry and Michael Nolan at this level.
Well done to all concerned over the weekend. May it be the sign of things to come and, as they say, 'tosach maith leath na hoibre', or a good beginning is half the work.
This week's fixtures are on the website as follows: Junior 'B' footballers v. Bunclody at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, away; Senior footballers v. Duffry Rovers at 4.30 p.m. on Saturday, March 13, away; Junior footballers v. Volunteers at 4.30 p.m. on Sunday, March 14, away.

And those of you who wish to treat your mothers or wives on Sunday next needn't despair - you can see the Minor game and then retreat to the Complex where you can available of a four-course meal for Mother's Day being organised by the Athenaeum Restoration committee.
Each mother will receive a little memento of the day and musical entertainment will follow the repas. For only ¤20 this is a lovely way to celebrate Mother's Day and support a very worthy cause.
Our next under-age disco is a special St. Patrick's Day one at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 16, in the clubhouse - admission ¤5. M'TOWN-C'DOCKRELL
The Intermediate footballers got their league campaign off to a winning start at a sun-drenched Farmleigh on Saturday evening last with a point to spare against a well-fancied Kilmore side. The home side began brightly and had a lot of possession even if it wasn't reflected on the scoreboard at half-time.
They had only three points to show for their efforts with minors from M. Kehoe, Sim and Mitch. Kilmore had a goal in the first-half from a quick break after another Marshalstown attack broke down in the final third (HT: 1-2 to 0-3).
The home side re-grouped at half-time and put in a much better shift in the secondhalf with goals from John Kinsella (with the left peg) and Andrew Quigley (who was making his debut) along with points from Mitch Jordan (two) and Frank Kelly (two).
It was a good second-half performance from the team but a lot of work is still required on albeit only the first week of March. Best for the home team were Dec Byrne, Mick Kinsella, Mickey Kelly, Mitch and Tom Bennett. FT: Marshalstown 2-7, Kilmore 2-6.
Training is in Farmleigh this Thursday at 7 p.m. sharp and all are welcome. The next match in on this Sunday at 4.30 p.m. in St. Fintan's in Intermediate football again.
It is nearly development draw ticket time of year again and we urge everyone to buy a ticket as this is the club's main source of income for the year, with the majority of the money coming back to the club.
