Wednesday March 03 2010

WEXFORD Motor Club is hosting a club meeting next Tuesday, March 9, in the Riverbank House Hotel at 9 p.m. for those who want to join the vintage, classic and sports car club or for anyone who would like information on its upcoming charity run.

The charity run takes place on Sunday, April 11.

Starting in New Ross it will travel out through Camblin, past Kennedy Park, on through Horeswood and out to Duncannon. following the coastal route (Hook Drive), including the loop through Grange, before heading back onto the New Line and towards Wellingtonbridge for an optional fuel stop.

It's then onto Carrig-on-Bannow, Cullenstown and Duncormick, stopping for lunch in Scaville Lodge for about an hour.

The motor club will then head for Rathangan, Baldwinstown, Murrintown and into the historic gardens of Johnstown Castle, before heading back to Rathaspeck, through the Whitford roundabout, Barntown and back to the Irishtown, New Ross for judging and prize giving.

'There will be route maps available at sign on and we will have marshals at all major junctions,' said a spokesman.

'We think this route will have a wide appeal for owners of classic, vintage and sports cars – modern sports cars are also welcome – and it's a fantastic scenic drive,' he added.
