Views on work at Courtown Harbour
VIEWS are to be sought from the local community on improvement works needed in Courtown Harbour.
Local Councillor Robert Ireton confirmed this week that a grant application for harbour work, totalling €72,000, is to be made in conjunction with the County Council, to the Department of the Marine.
' We will have to sit down with locals and plan a way for us to see where it can be best spent,' he said. ' The fishermen are still unable to access their fishing grounds because of the silting problem just off the mouth of the piers. There are serious problems getting in and out.'
