Travellers' caravans shifted from seafront
UP TO 20 Travellers' caravans were moved from along Courtown's seafront last Thursday morning, after complaints that people were unable to access the beach.
The vans arrived in the village on Tuesday evening, and parked on the south beach, and along the Burrow Road.
They were given a verbal notice by the Community Warden that they couldn't stay overnight. Notices were placed on the caravans the following morning giving them 24 hours to quit the area.
Overnight camping is prohibited in Courtown, and fines have been issued to quite a few camper vans this summer.
