Wednesday August 15 2007

Three parcels of land on Tara Hill are expected to fetch in excess of €1 million when they go under the hammer in Gorey next month.

The land, totalling 36.2 acres, will go under the hammer at the auction rooms of Sherry Fitzgerald O'Leary Kinsella in Gorey on September 5.

Each of the lots is expected to sell for in excess of €30,000 per acre. Lot 1, at Kilcavan Upper, measure 12.48 acres, while Lot 2, which adjoins Lot 1, measures 12.5 acres. They are situated on the edge of Tara Hill facing the sea, and are just over 100 metres from Tara Hill Church.. Both have road frontage, and fall away from the road.

Lot 3, is the entire of Lots 1 and 2, while Lot 4 at Kilcavan Lower, is an 11.26 acre property, situated just below the white tree' in Tara Hill. It has beautiful countryside views.

Auctioneer James Kinsella said that all are greenfield sites, currently in pasture. They have super potential,' he said. It would be a beautiful place to build a house. Lots 1 and 2 may have some development potential.'

He said they expected a good level of interest in the land. It's hard to get land in the Tara Hill area,' he said. It's the nicest piece of land that has come to market in Tara Hill in my memory.

The farmer selling the land has purchased a larger farm.
