A MOST REMARKABLE lady was recalled as family and friends gathered at St. Mary's Church of Ireland church in Enniscorthy last week to say goodbye to Dorothy Owens from Carleysbridge. She died unexpectedly on January 27 in the Beacon Hospital at the age of 85.

'Our wedding here was a perfect day which was helped by the fact that food was fantastic. Service and personal attention given to us by staff was brilliant. There was such a personal touch to it all. Nothing was a problem for the staff, if asked to help out with something. As a bride, I was made feel like a queen from the night before the wedding when I arrived with my family until the moment I left with my husband three days later. Our honeymoon suite included a very big and comfortable four-poster bed with a very beautiful view of the surrounding wooded mountainside. What a very warm, personal, charming and beautiful experience we had here. Our special day spent here will always be a wonderful memory for us. If anyone out there is looking for that personal touch to a wedding, or that intimate atmosphere, then this is the place. We had 92 people to our wedding and every single person there on the day, went away fantastic and positive comments about this hotel.'

Planning granted for three houses

KILMYSHALL is set for change now that Michael Furlong has been granted planning permission for three new houses. If and when the ambitious development goes ahead, the site in Kilmyshall will also have a shop with residential accommodation overhead. The planners at Wexford County Council have cleared the way for Michael Furlong to demolish four existing houses, along with three outhouses and a hayshed to make way for the new buildings.
