Road is like a 'bombed battlefield'

PARTS of the road surface on The Avenue in Gorey town resemble a 'bombed battlefield', a local Councillor has said. Cllr. Malcolm Byrne said this week, that in parts, it is only possible to drive in the centre of the road.
He said he raised matter at the recent Gorey District Meeting of Wexford Co. Council. He added that recent bad weather has worsened conditions on the road.
'It is outrageous that a road into town resembles a bombed battlefield,' he said. 'A major resurfacing job was carried out on The Avenue less than a decade ago and it was a waste of money given what has been allowed to happen.'
