Retention granted

Wednesday August 25 2010

AN BORD Pleanala has upheld Wexford County Council's decision to grant permission to Faser Court Ltd., trading as Casey Concrete, for retention of an asphalt/tarmacadam manufacturing plant at a quarry at Coolishall Upper, Gorey.

In granting permission, Wexford County Council had imposed 23 conditions on the application. The residents had appealed the decision on the grounds of noise pollution, traffic safety, fears of odour and dust pollution, and other fears.

The Council had previously granted permission for an asphalt/tarmac plant at the quarry, but this permission expired.

An Bord Pleanala had upheld the decision to grant permission, deciding the plant was in keeping with the activity at the site.
