Kung fu master staying at Monart

Shaolin Master Zheng will be staying at the Monart Spa Hotel.
SHAOLIN MASTER ZHENG has taken up residence until November at the elite Monart Spa Hotel near Enniscorthy, bringing a dramatic touch of kung fu to the programme of therapies on offer at the five-star location.
Shaolin monks and masters are famous for teaching the martial arts and Master Zheng from Henan province in China has agreed to put on a kung fu show each Saturday evening.
However, in calmer moments the Buddhist in the distinctively-coloured robes also provides massage and tai chee sessions, as well instruction in meditation and qi gong life energy.
Hotel marketing manager Liam Anthony Griffin first met the master at a spa in Austria and the Irish man was immediately impressed. He received treatment from Zheng on his bad back and witnessed the man from the East break an iron bar over his own skull.
' This is an amazing opportunity to see one of the world's oldest cultures in action and to learn the great skills of life which Master Zheng can teach,' enthused Liam Anthony. He described that unusual guest as ' the real living breathing Bruce Lee' but stressed that the shaolin approach is grounded in the spirit of peace promoted by Buddhism.
