Having a blast with fellow ex-pats
Wednesday March 03 2010
WEXFORD'S ex-pats turned out in force recently to celebrate their roots at the annual dinner dance of the London-Wexford Association.
The McNamara banqueting suite at the London-Irish Centre in Camden provided the venue for more than 240 guests, who were joined at the celebrations by Mayor of Wexford Phil Roche, Deputy Sean Connick and Wexford County Council vice-chairman Cllr. Jim Moore. The chairman of London County Board GAA, Tommy Harrell, was also a special guest.
Association chairman Michael Sills said that the London-Wexford Association is now recognised as one of the most successful, organised and efficient county associations in London, and the association hosts a large number of events throughout the year. One of the great successes of the association has been its ongoing induction of 'new blood' and young members.
The Association's next function will be at the Done Our Bit Club, Maygrove Road, Kilburn, NW6, on Saturday, March 13. The Murphy School of Dancing will be in attendance. Admission £5. Contact Michael Sills for tickets on 0208 452 3443.
