Handbag thief's car discovered in woodland
A CAR BELIEVED to have been used in the getaway of a handbag thief from the Aldi car park in Gorey recently was located abandoned in a woodland near Carnew at the weekend.
The handbag, minus most of its contents was located in Carnew last week, but it wasn't until last Saturday that the car turned up in Kilquiggan Wood, Carnew.
The distinctive Mitsubishi Evolution, was white, with a black bonnet. It has been taken away for examination. It was reportedly sold to an individual who gave a false name and address.
Gardai are looking to speak to anyone who may have seen the car being abandoned in the wood. The handbag was stolen from the trolley of a shopper as she loaded her groceries into her car in Gorey on Friday week last.
