THE NRA has said that the €4.8 million allocated to the Gorey bypass in the Department of Transport allocation for 2010 represents the final payments in the 'close out' of contract for the work. The road was officially opened in September 2007 and the work was carried out by Roadbridge Ltd.
The Department of Transport this week announced it had allocated ¤21.7 million to Wexford County Council through the NRA for roads.
Included in the figure was ¤18 million for major schemes, including ¤4.8 million for the Gorey Bypass; ¤7.6 million for the Enniscorthy bypass; ¤1 million for the Oilgate to Rosslare Harbour link; ¤4.1 million for the New Ross bypass; ¤475,000 for the Clonroche to New Ross link and ¤93,352 for Enniscorthy/Clonroche (Moneytucker). Some ¤1.1 million was allocated to pavement and minor works. Just over ¤900,000 was allocated to maintenance of primary and secondary roads and bridges.
