Burglars strike in Carnew
GARDAI in Carnew are investigating a series of break-ins at homes in the general area last Friday evening.
A house at Coolrus, Tinahely, was broken into some time after 4 p.m. on Friday, but the break-in wasn't discovered until Saturday afternoon.
A house at Coolkenno was broken into at around 5 p.m. but an alarm was set off and a member of the public went to investigate and may have caused the culprit or culprits to flee the scene. Nothing was taken in either break-in.
A house was later broken into at Tobinstown, Rathvilly, and the damage was discovered around 9 p.m. Gardai are investigating to see if there are links between all three incidents and have appealed to the public to help.
