Blaze destroys home

A NORTH Wexford family have been left devastated by the loss of their family home after it was gutted by fire in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Fortunately the Gorby family of Corecannon, Inch, were away for the weekend and no one was hurt, but the family are now counting the cost of the devastating fire which destroyed almost everything they own.
Dean Gorby, his wife Karen and their children aged five and three were visiting family in Dublin when they were told of the fire. Speaking to this newspaper yesterday (Monday), Dean said it was heartbreaking to see the extent of the damage.
He thanked the fire crews and gardaí who attended the scene. 'They made a lot of effort on the night,' he said. 'They didn't know initially if we were inside, and they tried to get in, and we appreciate that.'
