A PUBLIC consultation meeting to develop an architect's brief for the design of facilities at Gorey Showgrounds, is to be held in the Ashdown Park Hotel in Gorey this Friday, March 5, at 1.30 p.m.

INSURANCE COMPANIES are due to pay out a staggering €5.5 million to householders and commercial property owners in County Wexford who suffered damage from burst pipes during the big freeze in January.

PLACENAMES across North Wexford, South Wicklow, and Carlow, as well as the Gorey of years gone by, feature heavily in a story in the current edition of The New Yorker magazine. The widely-read American magazine features a work of fiction written by author Claire Keegan, who won the €25,000 Davy Byrnes award for the story last June.
