Triathlon
THE EIREMAN X Triathlon will take place in Courtown Harbour on Sunday, September 19 starting at 10 a.m. The distances for Éireman X include a 750m swim; a 10km cycle, mostly off-road in the surrounding woods; and a 5km run in the woods.
What distinguishes off-road from normal triathlon is the use of a mountain bike instead of a road bike and the natural obstacles that have to be negotiated such as running through rivers while carrying your bike! This is definitely one for anybody with a sense of adventure who enjoys a bit of craic.
Entries close on September 16 or when the 200 entry limit is reached. For more details go to www.eireman.org . Spectators welcome
