A LARGE crowd of comedy lovers turned up on a cold Friday evening at the Loch Garman Arms in Gorey last week to be entertained by Andrew Stanley and Patrick McDonnell.
Both acts went down very well with the nearly full house as did Damien Hickey, the open spot comedian. Damien has been on the comedy scene for only a short time and made his return to Gorey on Friday night - he previously worked in Heaton's on Gorey's Main Street before moving to the bright lights of Dublin.
Andrew Stanley opened the show, and kept the crowd entertained for the first half of the evening. In the second half, it was Damien's turn with a ten minute set, until Patrick took over and displayed to the crowd why he is one of the best comedians on the circuit these days.
Organiser Dara Kiernan said the next gig is on March 5 with Karl Spain and Paul Tylak. Karl is best known for his RTE TV shows, 'Karl Spain wants a woman' and 'Karl Spain wants to rock'. Tickets are on sale now in The Loch Garman Arms, and are priced at ¤12 each.
