PADDY O'Connor of Ballycanew Court, Ballycanew, was in top form last Friday night, as a big crowd of family and friends packed into the Ramble Inn, Ballycanew, to celebrate his 70th birthday party.

Many family members and friends made the trip down from Dublin to be there on the evening, while a large number of local friends were also in attendance.

Enjoying the fun were his wife Jean their daughter Sarah and son Stuart. Also there were his brother Anthony, sisters Sarah and Maria, son-in-law Mikey, and daughterin-law Anne.

Music was provided by Slaney Mist, and there was a special performance by a dancer. The party had a Las Vegas/Liverpool theme, as he's a huge Liverpool fan, and he's just back from a trip to Vegas.

Paddy is a former Showband singer, and obliged with a few numbers on the night. Several locals also got up and sang too.

Paddy thanked everyone for a wonderful evening. He sent a special thank you to all his wonderful friends in Ballycanew for their tremendous welcome into the village over the last seven years.
