Sincere Sympathy
We extend our sincere sympathy to Denis Nolan of Motabower on the recent sudden death of his brother Murtagh who was buried in following Requiem Mass in St. Brigid’s Church, Askamore on Sunday last. We extend our sympathy to all of the Nolan Family and we also wish Denis who has been in hospital recently a speedy recovery from his illness.
Sincere sympathy also to Jimmy Gregan Castlewhite on the recent death of his sister Kathleen Kelly from Clogh and to all the Gregan and Kelly families.
Sincere sympathy also to Emily Murphy, Kiltilahane on the recent death of her brother Patrick Kinsella from Gorey who was buried on Monday last in Tomacork Graveyard following Requiem Mass in Gorey.
Askamore Foroige
Congratulations to the new committee of Askamore Foroige who have been elected as follows: Chairperson - Kerrie Young; Vice Chairperson - Maura Kavanagh Secretary - Ciara Nolan; Vice Secretary - Anne Moore; Treasurer - Tom Kavanagh; Vice Treasurer - Robert Young; PRO - Ciara Doyle; Vice PRO - Lynne Doran.
The group meet on Wednesday evenings from 7.30 to 9 p.m. New members are always welcome.
Kilrush Drama Group
Best wishes to Kilrush Drama Group who will be taking part in the Skerries One act Festival with ‘Spreading the News’ by Lady Gregory.
Askamore Macra
Askamore macra will celebrate the 60th anniversary of macra with a dinner dance on Saturay November 21 in the Talbot Hotel, Wexford. Tickets are limited, so if interested contact a committee member or come along to our next meeting on Friday November 13 in Sinnott’s, Carnew at 9.30 p.m. As always all new members are welcome.
GAA Club Lotto
There was no winner of the last lotto draw which was held in Lambert’s Camolin. The numbers were 7, 17, 21, 23. The next draw is in Askamore Community Centre on Tuesday November 17 for a jackpot of ¤8,400. Your continued support is much appreciated.
Scrap Metal Collection
A scrap metal collection in aid of Chernobyl Ireland and Askamore Development Association will take place at Eddie Doran’s yard in Askamore on Saturday November 14. All metals, including washing machines, old bikes, etc will be collected. No fridges, radios, hi-fi’s or computers please. Car batteries must be stored separately. For larger items, contact Jim on 086 8406786.
