TABLE QUIZ

A Monster Table Quiz will take place in Ballycoogue Hall on Friday night 10th February at 8.30pm. A table of 4 will only cost you €20. All the proceeds will go towards Rathdrum Alzheimer's Society. Please support this worthy Charity, for further information Contact 087-6838426.

ST DAVID'S CHURCH

The 40th Anniversary Celebrations of St David's Church Johnstown have been scheduled for the beginning of May, with the Official opening by Dr Willie Walsh Bishop of Killaloe Co Clare, on Thursday 3rd May. On Friday 4th May it will be a Senior Citizens evening, then on Saturday evening there will be a Youth Mass followed by a Barbeque.

On Sunday 6th May celebrations will conclude with a concelebrated mass, where all the former Curates of Johnstown, will be joined by the local Parish Clergy, and also by Most Rev Dr Martin, Archbishop of Dublin. There will be many more attractions associated with the 40th Celebrations including a Photo Exhibition.

ROBBERY

A robbery was observed taking place in the Knockgreany area of the village during the past week. Anyone with further information should report same to the Gardai in Gorey at 053-9430690.

BABY GIRL

Congratulations to Patrick and Jenny Bracken on the birth of their Baby Daughter Anne, a sister for Tom.

BIRTHDAYS

Congratulations to Samantha Kelly who celebrated her Birthday on 25th January. Also Donnchadh Bracken Kilcarra who celebrated his Birthday on 25th January. Also Kirstie Bolger Ballycoogue whose Birthday was on 26th January.

Greetings also to James Mccarthy Askinch. and Helena Roche Glenview, both of whom celebrated birthdays yesterday 30th January, also Thomas John Bracken Johnstown whose birthday is today 31st January.

HANDBALL

The following Coolgreany player's, were in Handball action on last Sunday 29th January, in the County U11, U12, and U13 years age groups League. Jake Clancy (St. Joseph's) beat Craig Murphy (Coolgreany) by 2 games to nil, Eva Creane (St. Josephs) beat Katie O'sullivan (Coolgreany), by 2 games to nil, Kayleigh Furlong (St. Josephs) beat Lauren Flanagan (Coolgreany) 2 games to nil, Cora Doyle (St. Josephs) beat Cliodhna O'connell (Coolgreany) by 2 games to nil also.

In the Leinster Junior B Championship in Garryhill Darren O'toole had a clear 2 games to 1 win over Michael Donovan, Laois, while Damian Kelly partnered John Roche for a 2 games to nil win in the Leinster B Masters. On last Thursday night Daren O'toole joined up with Greg O'rourke to beat Justin Heffernan and Dinny Lindon in the Wexford Intermediate Championship by 2 games to 1.

This Thursday night Darren O'toole will partner Malachy Whelan in the Leinster Championship against a Kilkenny pairing.

SOCCER

Coolgreany Celtic had a very good away 3-1 win over Oylegate in the Wexford Cup in very trying weather conditions, with Eric Farrell getting 2 and Gavin O'toole getting one. Outstanding for Celtic were Eric Farrell, Shane Fleming and Richard Farrell. Well done lads.
