CHEQUE PRESENTATION IN THE TARA VALE LOUNGE

Wednesday March 10 2010
TWO CHARITIES were delighted to go along to the Tara Vale Lounge in Ballymoney last week to accept cheques for ¤6,000 each.
The Tara Vale Swimmers reunited for the presentation of the proceeds of their New Year's Day Swim, and handed over cheques to St. Aidan's Services in Gorey, and the international aid organisation Bothar.
A spokesperson for the swimmers said they were also delighted to present a cheque for ¤500 to Courtown RNLI who kindly looked after the swimmers on the morning of the dip.
Maura Kelly, manager of St. Aidan's, thanked all concerned for the continued support and said the money will be used to buy equipment for a new premises in Gorey Business Park, which St. Aidan's hopes to move into soon.
Then Nora Casey of Bothar told of their ongoing work in some of the poorest countries in the world, and the difference that the sum of money can make to several families.
The Tara Vale swimmers once again sent a huge thanks to all who support them in any way with sponsorship and donations.
