HERITAGE CLUB
Carnew Heritage club are busy putting plans together for their annual Barn Dance and working day on September 18th and 19th, they will have all the usual events and more, they are also having an early fordson working display up to 1960 and you must book your spot by phoning Kevin on 087-6732437. Music for the Barn Dance is by Midnight Blue followed by a DJ, there is also music in the lounge from 10 pm onwards, tickets are now on sale for the Barn Dance from any member of the committee or if wanting more information contact Kevin on 0876732437. Keep-fit classes (for all level of fitness) starting back 15th September in Carnew National School, every Wednesday, you can start anytime. times from 8.20 - 9.20 age 18 upwards. There is still time for new players to register for this year's season, for any our teams, so anyone who would like to play football this year; we would love to have you. Carnew First Responders have had a quiet summer thank God and we hope you all had a good one, the next training weekend for new people is in October so if you have a small bit of time on your hands and would like to join please contact any of the committee as new members are always welcome. John Somers, Croneyhorn would like to say a sincere thank you to everyone who helped in anyway with his threshing on Sunday 8th August, to all who helped on the day, before hand getting ready and afterwards tyding up, to the hillbillies for the colcannon, sausages, eggs and pancakes which was a great success, to everyone who donated items for the day and all for their donations.

Lots of talent turned up for Auditions for Carnew Musical Society's forth coming production of "Viva Mexico" last week. The cast for this very colourful and lively show will be announced soon.
The show depicts the story of Zorro and includes the well known and popular music of Latin America
All are welcome to join us for rehearsals for this production (16 years upwards) which start on Tuesday the 31st of August in Carnew National School.
Rehearsals will take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 to 10pm.
