ST. TERESA'S NS

St. Teresa's National School, Ballyellis is presently compiling a list of pupils due for enrolment in September 2012. Enrolment forms are available in the school from 9.00am to 3.00pm and should be returned as soon as possible.

ACTIVITY CENTRE

Tuesdays in Askamore Activity Centre are as follows: Tuesday, January 31st - Sergeant Ferriter will talk on how to feel more secure in your own home, and tea.

Tuesday, February 7th - Self Care and Positive Mental Health. Denis O'connor of Console will talk about how society has changed - its impact on people and community, what may happen if we don't look after our emotional well-being and the consequences and impact of living stressful lives, and tea.

COMMUNITY TEXTING

It has been decided that Askamore Community Alert committee will take over the running of the very successful Community Texting project. If there is anyone who would like to be included, please contact Mary on 086 1633341 or Mary on 086 1541948 as soon as possible to be included in the database of people who receive text alerts about suspicious vehicles in the local area.

KILRUSH DRAMA GROUP

Kilrush Drama Group have once again chosen a Martin Mcdonagh play as their Festival Play, "The Lonesome West" is written in typical Mcdonagh style and is one of his funniest plays, coupled of course with some underlying dark and sad moments, all captured excellently by Director Mick Byrne.

Don't miss the first performance of this year's production in St. Brigid's Hall, Carnew on Friday 17th and Sunday 19th of February. Admission: €10.00

As "The Lonesome West" is on the Leaving Cert Syllabus for this year, there will be a special group rate for groups of over 10 students (booked in advance) Contact Mary on 087 9323990 for further information on this.

DRAMA FESTIVAL

The South Wicklow Drama Festival Committee are busy preparing for the 2012 Festival which will take place in St. Bridget's Hall, Carnew, from Thursday 15th - Friday 23rd March. Once again the Festival has an exciting line up of plays to look forward to, and the Committee are happy to announce that the adjudicator for the 2012 festival will be Myles Purcell, GIDA.

Patron tickets will soon be available from any of the committee at a cost of just €35 which will cover all nine nights of the Festival. There is still time also if anyone would like to place an advertisement in the programme.

CAMOGIE CLUB

A reminder to all there will be a registration evening held in conjunction with the Coiste na nog on Friday 3rd February in the club house Ballyroebuck from 7.30 to 9.30pm

COISTE NA NOG

Registration takes place this Friday at the Clubhouse in Ballyroebuck 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Fee €10 one child, €20 for two or more children. New members are welcome. Please bring a copy of the child's birth Cert on the night. We look forward to seeing you all, and the start of a new season.

FIGHT NIGHT

Congratulations to the Askamore and Carnew Boxers on a very entertaining night in the Amber Springs on Saturday night last. Carnew came out overall winners on the night, but everyone battled valiantly, and a great night was had by competitors and spectators alike. Well done to all.
