WEXFORD Motor Club is proud to announce its first Vintage Classic and Sports Car Charity Run on Sunday April 11.
The Route will start in New Ross, take us down to the quay, past the Dunbrody Famine Ship, then out to Camblin & past Kennedy Park Gardens. On through Ballykerogue Horeswood & historic Dundrody Abbey. From there it's on to Duncannon seaside village, Templetown Coastal Route ( Hook Drive ) and Fethard on Sea. We will then do the loop through Grange (well worth it for the view) on into Saltmills & St Kearns to view the Portlairge steam ship wreck. Then it's onto Wellingtonbridge for optional fuel stop, Ballystown, Green Road Carrig – on – Bannow, Cullenstown, Lough and into Duncormick for lunch in the Scavilles Lodge for approx 1 hour. On leaving Duncormick it's off to Rathangan, Baldwinstown, Murrintown and into the historic gardens of Johnstown Castle then into Rathaspeck, Whitford Roundabout, Barntown and back to Irishtown New Ross for judging and prize giving (we have numerous class prizes)
There will be route maps available at sign on and we will have marshals at all major junctions. We think this route will have a wide appeal for owners of Classic Vintage and Sports Cars (modern sports cars also welcome) and it's a fantastic scenic drive. Entry Fee is ¤25.00 and all monies raised will de donated to The Friends of Wexford General Hospital.
Wexford Motor Club will be holding a club meeting on Tuesday March 9 in the Riverbank House Hotel, Wexford at 9 p.m. especially for new members who want to join our new Vintage Classic Sports Car Club or for anyone who would like to attend just for information on the run, you are very welcome.
