Two major awards for Irish Ferries

IRISH Ferries was back again in the winners' enclosure recently when the company was presented with two major Irish Logistics and Transport Awards - the Passenger Transport Award and the Overall Logistics and Transport Excellence Award - both sponsored by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport.

In winning the Overall Logistics and Transport Excellence Award, the top prize out of eight category prize winners, Irish Ferries was praised for its business and financial flair, their commitment to quality and for the entrepreneurial vision displayed by its management in tough economic times. To win the award, the company had to survive stiff competition from 26 other companies.

In winning the Passenger Transport Award, Irish Ferries was praised for having invested more than ¤50 million to ensure that its new service to France would be a success - a decision described as 'a brave thing to do in the current economic climate.
