Rock-a-bye bunker

Wednesday August 11 2010

ROCKSTOCK delivered what it promised last weekend - two great nights of music; a fun family afternoon; a vintage tractor run; and a golf classic. The Bunker Bar was the focus of the festivities for the weekend. The event was organised by a group of locals to raise funds for the Friends of Gorey District Hospital and Aware. Bands such as Chucky's River, Ragdoll, Jimi Cullen and the Jobless, Rattle and Hum and Bocs Social delighted those who turned out on the Friday and Saturday evening.

One of the organisers, Lisa Keating, said that they had hoped for a larger turnout for the event, but that they were very grateful for the support they did receive.

She said that a lot of people donated their time to help run the event, and the organisers thanked everyone who supported Rockstock in any way. She also thanked the Mountain Valley Vintage Club for organising the vintage run, and Joe Breen and Gerry Byrne for organising the golf classic. Thanks also went to those who donated raffle prizes, and to Jay Kabs for organising the transport.
